KDDS Teaching Staff

70s class

The King's Daughters Day School Teaching Staff

The teaching staff consists of 31 team members, including the executive director.  Upon their employment, each staff member undergoes both a child abuse and criminal background check.  They are 18 years of age or older and have a minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma.  All full time teacher assistants or aides must pursue their Child Development Credential (CDA), ( ), within their first year of employment.  The CDA is a nationally awarded certificate in early childhood education.

Dedicated Teachers

cookingWe are very fortunate to have retained a staff that is so highly committed to the children and families of the Day School.  The average full time teacher has been with the Day School for several years.   The lead teachers in all of our classrooms hold a minimum of a CDA.  Among our ten lead teachers, five currently are CDA credentialed, and the other five have college degrees.  Eight out of our ten full time teacher assistants/aides are CDA credentialed; the remaining two have completed the CDA course work.  Additionally, two out of the ten full time teacher assistants have college degrees, and an additional two are pursuing degrees in education.  The Day School is equally committed to teacher education as we are in providing high quality programs to our children.  Tuition reimbursement is available to all our full time staff.  In addition to our in-service days, we require that all full time teaching staff complete 20 hours of continuing education annually.
