President’s Message

For over a century, The King’s Daughters Day School (KDDS) has proudly served the communities       of central New Jersey.  We are honored to continue the mission of providing exemplary education to children.

KDDS received international recognition in 2012!  The article Enhancing Practice with Infants and Toddlers from Diverse Language and Cultural Backgrounds, co-authored by our Executive Director Valeria Erdosi-Mehaffey, was published in the September issue of Young Children, the journal of          The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  NAEYC is the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children.  We are so lucky to have an amazing Executive   Director who has also been recognized by her peers for her commitment and expertise in the education of young children.  KDDS has also been recognized as a model school.  We continue our collaboration with the College of St. Elizabeth, Kean University and William Patterson University by providing first-hand experience for student teachers and junior field students.  The student teachers learn from the best!

Under the direction of our Executive Director, our teaching and support staff continue to provide exemplary education and to serve the needs of working families despite a limited budget.  We rely         on grants and fundraising.  Each year we hold a family photograph fundraiser to raise additional funds.  Every penny helps so that we may provide more children with quality education.  Through generous donations and fee subsidies for tuition, many children who might not otherwise be able to enroll in  KDDS are now thriving students.  Typically, the school subsidizes outright the tuition of approximately one-third of its students.

The members of the KDDS Board of Trustees are committed to preserving over a century of educational excellence for our students.  We welcome additional board members who are dedicated to our mission.  I invite any prospective board member to tour KDDS or contact a board member for more information.

KDDS depends on volunteer efforts and support.  Volunteer hours and donations are critical to the financial well-being and existence of KDDS.  Donations, in any monetary amount or in volunteer hours, are greatly appreciated.  If you would like to volunteer or make a contribution to KDDS, please contact    the school to arrange to volunteer.

Please join us in supporting The King’s Daughters Day School.  I encourage and applaud your  continued support as we strive to make a difference in the lives of the local children just as the founders of KDDS committed to over a century ago.
